6-inch behemoth, Galaxy Mega 2 now showing on Samsung’s Thai website

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 has begun showing on Samsung’s Thai website. The presence on the website could possibly indicate a launch in Australia before the end of the year. The original Samsung Galaxy Mega came in two sizes, 5.8 and 6.3-inch, and were originally available as import only, before JB Hi-Fi started selling the 6.3″ variety in August last year for around $600. Jason reviewed the 6.3 version and had mixed feelings about the device due to the 720p screen, size and performance. The Galaxy Mega 2 on the other hand is slightly smaller with a 6-inch 720p display[Read More...]

Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha is coming to JB Hi-Fi stores in October, $830 for 32GB

We’ve reported previously on Samsung‘s new metal-clad Galaxy Alpha phone, and we were previously advised that the phone will make it to Australia – but we weren’t told when that would be. Yesterday, Tech4Geeks‘ Jens Garcia sent us the above picture of the JB Hi-fi store at Westpoint shopping centre in the Sydney suburb of Blacktown – clearly they knew something we didn’t about the device’s release. We’ve also been tipped that JB will be selling the 32GB version of the Galaxy Alpha for AU $830, and that stock will start arriving in early October. There’s no word on pricing,[Read More...]

Well, that escalated quickly – Samsung trolls Apple (again) with new Galaxy Note 4 ads

Well, that escalated quickly – Samsung trolls Apple (again) with new Galaxy Note 4 ads

Samsung has of late been quite proactive at poking the lawyers bear with advertising that’s clearly aimed at Apple, the iPhone and users of ageing Apple devices. Their latest batch of adverts take a direct swipe at the new iPhone 6 before it’s even released to the public, taking aim at the apparent oversights and slow development of the iPhone rather than the stronger features of Samsung’s own devices. Much like the amusing comparisons between the iPhone 6 and 2-generation old Nexus phones, the adverts seek to convince the viewer that Samsung – the main name associated with “Android” by[Read More...]

Earlier this month, chip-maker Nvidia, brought legal action agains competitors Samsung and Qualcomm, claiming they are using technology in their GPUs without paying royalties to NVidia. It’s in the documents for this case, that BrightSideOfNews found a reference to the Nexus 9, with NVidia outing the name, manufacturer and release window as well as confirming it will be powered by the Tegra K1. Nvidia references the Nexus 9 in the documents, stating[Read More...]
